COMMITTEE CHAIR • 1-YEAR TERM • NON-VOTING POSITION
The Concessions Manager assumes a vital and integral role in the organization by effectively managing all facets of concessions operations. They are responsible for ensuring the availability and quality of food items, maintaining compliance with health department regulations, and overseeing the inventory management process.
The position requires a skilled individual to join our team as a Concessions Manager on a 1-year term basis. The Concessions Manager will serve as a Committee Chair in a non-voting capacity.
Requirements
The position requires the following:
- CPR Certification
- Federal Background Clearance
*All certifications must be obtained at the beginning of the season, and the associated costs are the responsibility of the individual.
Qualifications
The position requires the following qualifications:
• Previous experience in concessions management or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit or event setting
• Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and coordinate a team of concession stand staff and volunteers
• Excellent organizational skills to oversee inventory management, scheduling, and ordering supplies
• Great customer service skills
• Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices to maintain a clean and safe concession environment
• Ability to manage revenue, expenses, and budgeting for the concessions operation
• Effective communication skills to interact with staff, volunteers, event organizers, and customers
• Strong problem-solving abilities to address any issues or challenges that may arise during events
• Willingness to collaborate with event organizers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful concession operations
• Reliable transportation with the ability to fit concession supplies
Responsibilities of the Concessions Manager:
1. Board Meeting Attendance: Attend all open session Board Meetings to provide updates on concessions operations and be aware of organizational decisions.
2. Procurement and Transportation: Ensure reliable transportation for purchasing concessions supplies, maintaining stock levels and quality.
3. Collaboration with Equipment Manager: Work closely with the Equipment Manager to coordinate responsibilities related to trailer access and storage.
4. Inventory Management: Maintain the integrity of non-perishable concession items between home games, ensuring proper storage, organization, and stock rotation.
5. Event Presence: Be present at all home game events, including football games and parent events, from start to finish, providing oversight and support as needed.
6. Inventory Tracking: Keep an updated inventory list for all concession items, including quantities, expiration dates, and restocking needs.
7. Menu Coordination: Coordinate the food menu and necessary labor for food items, ensuring a variety of options and considering dietary restrictions or preferences.
8. Collaboration with Head Cheer Advisor: Collaborate with the Head Cheer Advisor to offer a diverse range of items for sale, considering input from the cheerleading team and their families.
9. Ordering and Stock Control: Oversee the ordering of food items to meet inventory demands, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
10. Volunteer Coordination: Coordinate volunteer labor in collaboration with the Boosters/Volunteer Manager, scheduling shifts, providing training, and ensuring smooth operations during events.
11. Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations: Ensure adherence to local health and safety regulations regarding food handling, cleanliness, and sanitation in the concession stand.
12. Financial Management: Assist in managing revenue, expenses, and budgeting for the concessions operation, collaborating with the Treasurer or Finance Manager as needed.
13. Communication and Reporting: Maintain effective communication with event organizers, concession stand staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders, providing regular reports on operations, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
