EXECUTIVE BOARD • 3-YEAR TERM • NON-VOTING POSITION UNLESS TO BREAK TIES
The President is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing organizational operations and shaping the strategic direction of our non-profit organization. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with strategic thinking skills and a deep commitment to the organization’s mission. The President guides operations, motivates teams, and sets goals to achieve success. They collaborate with the Board and stakeholders to shape the organization’s strategic direction, driving meaningful impact in the community. The President builds relationships and raises awareness, as well as offer leadership, create positive change, and leave a lasting legacy.
As the President of our organization, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of organizational operations and shaping the direction of our non-profit business. This is a 3-year term position that is a non-voting role and only votes to break ties.
Requirements
The position requires the following:
- CPR Certification
- Federal Background Clearance
*Both certifications must be obtained at the beginning of the season, and the associated costs are the responsibility of the individual.
Qualifications
The position requires the following qualifications:
• Minimum of four years experience leading non-profit business and efforts
• Proven leadership experience in a nonprofit or similar organization
• Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and resource development
• Knowledge of non-profit governance and compliance
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Financial acumen and budget management skills
• Passion for the organization’s mission and commitment to making a positive impact
• Collaborative leadership style fostering an environment of open communication, value diverse perspectives, and encourage teamwork
Responsibilities of the President:
1. Board Meetings and President Meetings: The President is required to attend all MBYFL Board Meetings and President meetings, actively participating in discussions and decision-making processes.
2. Oversight of Organizational Operations: The President is responsible for overseeing all organizational operations, including but not limited to football, cheer, volunteer management, concessions, and other relevant areas. Your leadership and guidance will ensure the successful execution of our programs and activities.
3. Attendance at Organizational Events and Meetings: The President must attend all organizational events, meetings, and activities. Your presence will demonstrate your commitment to the organization and provide essential leadership and support.
4. Collaboration with Football Head Coach and Cheer Advisor: The President works closely with the Football Head Coach and Cheer Advisor to ensure effective coordination between the sports programs. Your collaboration will contribute to the successful execution of football and cheer activities.
5. Financial Oversight with Treasurer: The President collaborates with the Treasurer to oversee all financial aspects of the organization. Your partnership will ensure proper financial management, aligning with the organization’s goals and objectives.
6. Boosters and Committee Meetings: The President must attend all Boosters and Committee meetings, actively engaging with members and providing leadership and guidance as needed.
7. Attendance at MBYFL Meetings: The President is required to attend all MBYFL meetings, representing our organization and staying informed about league-wide matters.
8. Understanding of Vision, Mission, and Strategy: The President must have a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s vision, mission, and overall strategic direction. Your alignment with these guiding principles will help drive the organization’s success.
9. Strong Leadership Skills: As the President, you must possess strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate others, make informed decisions, and effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders.
10. Roster Binder and Certification Oversight: The President works with the Head Football Coach, Head Cheer Coach, and Player Agent to oversee roster binders and certification processes. Your attention to detail will ensure accurate and compliant record-keeping.
11. Presence at Organizational Events: The President must be present at all organizational events from start to finish, including but not limited to football games, cheer competitions, parent events, and other relevant activities. Your presence will provide leadership, support, and enhance the overall experience for participants and stakeholders.
12. Available and Ready to Serve: As President, you must be readily available to fulfill the demands of the position, even when faced with challenging deadlines. It is expected that you will be accessible during all reasonable hours to ensure the smooth operation of the organization, meet deadlines, and drive progress forward. Your dedication to being available and responsive will contribute to the overall success of the organization and its ability to achieve its goals.
